BGC was retained to deliver an expert assessment of climate conditions and their potential influence on permafrost, related to a project that required remediation after project works were mobilized and eroded. To address questions such as whether the environmental conditions were exceptional and could not have been anticipated, a comprehensive evaluation of available hydrometeorological data and information was conducted, and conditions were assessed both relative to historical records and in the context of recent climate changes and concurrent global climate teleconnection patterns.
