Sustainability

Forging a path towards a more resilient and thriving planet

At BGC, we believe business success goes hand in hand with environmental and social responsibility. Our commitment to promoting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) best practices through our operations is a critical component in finding responsible solutions for more resilient infrastructure and safer operations.

Our ESG Principles

We recognize the importance of protecting the environment and minimizing our negative impacts on the natural world. We strive to understand our carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices in our business operations. Working with our clients, we provide expertise that aims to advance the state of practice for climate change integration in applied earth science practice.

BGC Sustainability Report 2023

Pay Equity

At BGC, we’re committed to fair and equitable compensation as part of our broader focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). Each year, we conduct a robust pay equity analysis to ensure our compensation practices are fair and free from bias. Our most recent analysis found no statistically detectable pay gap between men and women when relevant factors such as role, experience, and performance are considered.

In alignment with our ESG commitments and legal obligations, BGC meets pay transparency reporting requirements in the jurisdictions where we operate, including the province of British Columbia. These reports follow standardized government methods that do not account for all variables influencing compensation but contribute to transparency in our industry. We remain dedicated to continuously reviewing our practices to ensure pay equity for all members of our BGC team.
