BGC is Growing in The North: Opening Our New Office in Whitehorse
At the start of July, we took a significant step in deepening our commitment to clients, partners, and communities across northern Canada: we opened a new office location in Whitehorse, Yukon!
Whitehorse is more than just a beautiful place; it’s a warm and welcoming community where its people thrive through long winters and make the most of vibrant, sun-filled summers. It’s also a hub of adventure, innovation, and environmental stewardship—values we share at BGC.
“It’s very exciting and meaningful to me to pioneer a new office for BGC,” says Aaron Weber, P.Eng. (YT, NWT/NU, BC, ON), P.E., (AK) Geotechnical Engineer and BGCer helping to establish our presence in Whitehorse. “By putting down roots in the Yukon, we’re showing that we’re not just here for the work. We’re here to be part of the community, to listen, to collaborate, and to grow together.”
BGC has been supporting projects across the Canadian North and Alaska since our earliest days. Our reputation for providing high-quality, technically robust work—including as permafrost specialists—has been built from a distance. Now, we’re bridging that distance with a dedicated local presence.
Our new Whitehorse office gives us a stronger foundation to support northern projects and communities with more immediacy, more impact, and deeper connection. It also allows us to better support First Nations and regional clients, reaffirming our commitment to partnership and long-term investment in the North.
Opening a new office is always a milestone. Doing so in Whitehorse, a place rich with potential and promise, is something we’re truly excited about.
